Formed in 1977 by a group of parents (led by Ken Membury) keen to enhance their childrens' interest in brass band music.

The name Jubilee Brass (Oxford) was chosen to reflect the year in which the band was formed and also the area.

The band undertakes many concerts, fetes and similar events. It has performed at parks in Oxford, Henley, Wantage and Bicester, together with many of the country’s leading stately homes including Blenhiem Palace, Woburn Abbey, Broadlands and Knebworth.

As well as the above, the band is actively involved in the local and national brass band scene and is a member of the Oxfordshire & District Brass Band Association.

During the early years in the bands history, various concert tours took place to North Wales and Cornwall. In 1982 and 1986 the band attended the International Youth Music Festival in Purmerend (Netherlands) and also Oxford Twin Cities of Bonn (Germany) and Lieden (Netherlands). And in 1983 the band visited Malta as guests of the Maltese Ministry of Culture.

Jubilee Brass is a self-funding organisation.
